Welcome to BKD's 2018 Employee Benefits Guide

BKD is committed to providing a comprehensive and affordable benefits package. This guide is designed to give you an overview of the benefits offered by BKD and to provide important information to you and your family. BKD’s health-related benefits are offered to employees who work at least 20 hours per week.

BKD offers eligible employees the option to purchase medical, dental, vision and supplemental voluntary life insurance. BKD contributes between 60 percent and 75 percent of the cost of the medical premium depending on selected plan and level of coverage. BKD contributes 50 percent of the cost of the dental premium for all coverage levels. The employee is responsible for the full premium for vision and supplemental voluntary life coverage.

BKD provides eligible employees with short-term disability and long-term disability coverage, as well as group life insurance with a benefit of two times your salary, up to $500,000 in coverage. Spouse and dependent children life insurance coverage also is included. BKD also provides a competitive paid time off (PTO) plan and paid parental leave for eligible employees. These benefits are 100 percent employer paid.

For your retirement needs, BKD’s Employees’ Savings Trust Retirement Plan provides you with the opportunity to contribute funds to a 401(k) plan. Your contributions may be made in Traditional (pre-tax) and/or Roth (post-tax) contributions, up to the annual IRS limits. The Trust also provides employees with a profit sharing plan, where BKD will provide an annual contribution to your 401(k) account at the end of each plan year. Contributions are equal to 5 percent of your earnings during the plan year. Contributions from the profit sharing plan are subject to a five-year vesting schedule. There are no minimum hours eligibility requirement for the 401(k) or profit sharing plan.
